Primary Share Account

This is your main account. If you are eligible to join SunWest, all that is required to open your Primary Share account is a $5 minimum deposit. Once you establish your Primary Share account, you are also eligible to open many different types of share accounts and take advantage of our many other services and loan products we currently offer. Sub-Account

These accounts can be set up under your main member number for varying needs. You can open a Sub-Account for personal reasons, a vacation, or insurance purposes - the list is endless. There is no minimum balance requirement for this account.

Holiday Share Account

You can stash a little or a lot each payday or each month for all your holiday shopping needs. Then, when the holiday season rolls around and it's time to buy all those gifts everyone has always wanted, you will have the money at your fingertips. There is no minimum balance requirement for this account.

On any Sub-Account or Holiday Account, we pay dividends on the entire balance every month.

Checking

Free Checking Account

Our "Free Checking" account is a package of services combined into one account, designed to meet your growing financial needs.

Premier Checking Account

Our "Premier Checking" product provides a dividend earning checking account and offers you selected credit union products or services for FREE! Our Premier Checking will pay dividends on a monthly basis with a minimum daily account balance of $1,000. A monthly service fee of $5 will be charged on the Premier Checking account ONLY if the minimum balance requirement is not met each day of the month.

Dividends are accrued daily on your account balance as long as the daily end-of-business minimum balance is $1,000. Dividends and service fees are applied at the end of the month. Request an application now.

IRAs

With an Individual Retirement Account (IRA), there is no minimum balance required to earn the disclosed APY and dividends are calculated by the daily balance method, applying the daily periodic rate to the balance in the account each day.

Withdrawals from IRAs require a 90 day written notice for account holders under age 59 ½. We may impose a penalty if you withdraw any funds without satisfying the 90 day written notice requirement. The penalty assessed will be based on the lesser of dividend earnings to date or an amount equal to 90 days earnings.

Internal Revenue Service regulations may also impose other penalties and require tax withholding obligations from your withdrawal of account funds. You should consult your tax advisor regarding the tax issues associated with IRAs.

CDs

SunWest offers a wide variety of Share Certificates for an equally wide range of savers. In denominations ranging from $500 minimum deposit to $100,000 - and from terms of 3 to 60 months - you can really make your money work for you. We offer competitive rates for each of our terms. We offer both IRA Certificates and Regular Share Certificates. Money Market

This account offers a complete range of safe, sound investment options to meet your needs. Members of SunWest who have $1,000 or more deposited in a SunWest Money Market account can earn higher interest and enjoy increased flexibility with this account.

Under a "rising rate" plan, funds in a Money Market account earn one high rate of dividends based on the entire amount in the account, with interest paid monthly. This means your entire balance will earn daily interest at the rate calculated for the highest amount. Interest rates on the Money Market account are competitive and earn a higher rate than our regular savings accounts. For current rates, call any branch office or the Information Center or call VAL.

Unlike funds in a Share Certificate, Money Market funds can be withdrawn at any time without penalty. Our Money Market account offers three (3) free withdrawals per month, with a fee of $5 charged for additional withdrawals. In addition, funds can be added to the account at any time and will begin earning interest on the day of deposit. Money Market accounts may not be accessed by ATM, Point-of-Sale, or Visa® Check Card.
